La Giettaz is about 1 hour from Geneva or Chambery airports. Lyon is about 2 hours away.

Transfer from Geneva airport

The quickest way is to hire a car, but there are 3 things to remember :

• It's best to hire on the Swiss side of the airport. If you hire on the French side, the return process is very awkward.
• Make sure they give you snow-chains. You may not need them, but it's an essential precaution.
• Make sure you hire a ski carrier or the rear seat folds down or has a hole to poke your skis through.

Bus and Taxi

There is a good bus service to Megève. For a taxi from Megève to La Giettaz, phone M Favrat on 04 79 32 92 08, or mobile 06 11 71 67 85. The taxi will cost about €30. If you have more than 4 people, Taxi Bouchex in La Giettaz operates a minibus service on 04 79 32 92 17. Taxi Bouchex also offers a direct service to/from Geneva airport.

By Car

Allow 8 hours drive from the Channel Tunnel.  Leave Autoroute A40 at Sallanches and approach La Giettaz via Megève and Flumet.  Alternatively you can leave the A40 at Bonneville and approach via La Clusaz over the Col des Aravis.  This road is closed in extreme weather conditions - a sign at the A40 exit advises if the Col des Aravis is closed.

By Train

There are bus connections to La Giettaz from Albertville station. The fare is €11 and the journey just over an hour. Please check the bus times with La Giettaz Office de Tourisme – during the ski season the last bus leaves Albertville station at 17.45.
