Walking

There are numerous mountain walks from La Giettaz. The plateau at the Col des Aravis, a short drive from the village, is also a good starting point.

Mountain biking

Downhill tracks are plentiful with the Torraz chairlift open in July and August to transport you and your bike to the summit. Excellent mountain bikes are available for hire in the Val d’Arly and Megève area.

Quad biking

Quads, 4x4 off-roading and Parapente can be experienced nearby at La Clusaz.

On Jaillet, Megève. Good for families.

Sports Centre

In Megève next to the Jaillet lifts is a fabulous ‘Palais des Sports’ with ice rink, swimming pools, sauna, turkish bath, fitness suite, climbing wall, trampoline.

In the village

Music & cultural festival: Late July in La Giettaz. Numerous others in local villages and towns. Fishing, tennis & museum of rural life - Office de Tourisme for details. There are also trampolines, mini golf and a play area for children.

Mont Blanc

Take the tramway from St Gervais les Bains or the cable car up Mont Blanc to the Aiguille du Midi from Chamonix. Spectacular views on a clear day.

Swimming lakes

The 'biotope' is an environmentally friendly pool which lies in a beautiful setting at Combloux. Restaurant open lunchtimes and evenings. There is also an outdoor lake at Flumet - also beautifully situated.

Lake Annecy

Within easy reach is the beautiful lake at Annecy with boat excursions and excellent shopping in the town. Megève is also a shoppers’ paradise with numerous designer shops and a wonderful choice of eating.
